Introduction to the iProduce Agribusiness Hub

The iProduce Africa Agri-business hub is an initiative of The Inara Foundation.

The Inara Foundation is a non-profit organization established to address development challenges in Nigeria with a focus on the following thematic areas: youth empowerment; economic development; women empowerment; and education.

Our Goals and Objectives

  • Stimulate youth involvement in Nigeria’s agriculture sector through targeted technical assistance to young agri-entrepreneurs in selected agricultural value chains
  • Build capacity of young farmers and agri-entrepreneurs about opportunities for intra African trade.
  • Provide training on sanitary and phytosanitary standards, and other non-tariff barriers focusing on the African markets
  • Improve knowledge and access of agro entrepreneurs to new technologies, which will improve their productivity.
  • Create market linkages through digital channels to increase access to economic opportunities in Africa’s agriculture sector.

iProduce has 4 areas of Focus

Agri-food systems are the world’s largest economic system, measured in terms of employment, livelihoods and planetary impact. Four billion people are employed directly or indirectly in food systems, in which poverty and hunger are nonetheless endemic. Transforming our food systems is among the most powerful ways to change course and make progress towards all 17 SDGs and ‘build back better’ from COVID-19. – FAO Director General, February 2021

A fruit is the edible part of a plant that consists of the seeds and surrounding tissues, while vegetables are plants cultivated for their edible parts. A fruit is the mature ovary of a plant or the succulent edible part of woody plants, while vegetables are the edible portions of a plant that can be eaten such as the leaves, stem, tubers, roots and bulbs.

A soft, fluffy staple fibre that grows in a boll, or protective case, around the seeds of the cotton plants of the genus Gossypium in the mallow family Malvaceae. The fibre is almost pure cellulose.
